When my little missy lost her naps, mommy lost her daily painting time... not good. So for a month I went without, and for a month I was miserable. Then I pulled out my trusty friend the "The Artist's Way" and followed Julia Cameron's advice. I concentrated on what I can do in my current circumstances, instead of wishing and waiting for the magical time of uninterrupted painting bliss.
And what I can do is tiny,
very small in fact
30 min a day...and that's all it took to change things around
We paint together first thing in the morning...before dishes and cleaning and getting dressed and life stuff. Thirty minutes to us - painting for fun
(Semay's mountain and face)
Two days down and I love it. Semay with her "special" paints, and mommy with hers. I'm keeping it simple and fun, only painting possible colour combinations and art cards for possible backgrounds...with lots of breaks inbetween refilling Semays paint and wiping hands.
Tiny steps leading to very special mornings
